Stonecast specialises in precast concrete and FX Stone solutions for homes and building projects. We are able to produce almost any custom item.Â
We also have a range of high quality, robust concrete products which includes pots and planters, slabs (countertops, vanities, stairs), tables and seating, furniture, water features and more.Â
Stonecast specialises in working to client specification.Â
We can manufacture completely bespoke pieces to meet specific client needs or manufacture original designs. Alternatively, we can make custom (in size, shape and finish) and ‘made-to-order’ pieces that are built off of our existing range of products.
There are very few limitations to what we can achieve in either precast concrete, GRC or FXstone.
All Stonecast pieces are made to order and are made by hand in our workshop in Maitland, Cape Town.Â

Stonecast primarily works with a specially developed concrete mix and concrete composite materials. All our pieces are reinforced.
We also work in FX Stone which is a specially formulated material that looks and acts exactly like concrete in structural integrity and strength, but it also has thermal integrity and is 1/5th of the weight of concrete. FX Stone is crack, chip and when sealed, stain resistant material. It is especially suitable for outdoor applications.
FX Stone is a concrete fibreglass composite material that we developed in-house. It allows us to make products that look and behave like concrete but that are much lighter and have a higher thermal gradient. We recommend
Stonecast is able to offer various terrazzo finishes on our slabs (kitchen tops, counters and vanities), tables, benches and pavers. We have a number of different terrazzo options but will often create custom terrazzo mixes per client specification.Â
While we can make custom pavers and stair treads, we do not do concrete flooring or make tiles.Â
Our pots and planters are manufactured using fibreglass and steel moulds; so their size cannot be adjusted. We can, however, manufacture any custom item according to your specification. This falls under our ‘bespoke’ work and is subject to quotation.
Despite our name, we do not carve stone items. Instead we use composite concrete materials which contain stone (as an aggregate) to cast our products.Â

Sealed concrete is protected by a liquid sealant that helps it resist water, stains, and wear. All our indoor products are sealed.
Unsealed concrete is left ‘bare’ which means that it is porous and absorbs liquids.Â

Lead times are dependent on the item and quantity of your order and we duly communicate this information with our clients. On average, our lead times are 3-4 weeks.Â
Custom items require a longer lead time which can range from anywhere between 1 and 12 weeks depending on the size, complexity and quantity of the work required.Â
